Omg thank you so much for answering my last omegaverse question. I rlly couldn't believe you were a newbie to the fest too with all your knowledge about it. Cheers to us and our fics! :D can I know anything that's popular among the onegaverse community about omega x omega stuff? (Also unrelated to omegaverse but related to slickfest, pretty please could you lmk if you have any ideas on how I can find out some basics about music production (4 jsng) and how to name a male villain (ex bf) tysm for replying
Happy to help! All of my knowledge is just from observing fandom spaces and reading as many fics as I can. You absorb the most by consuming the content, y'know? That's really the biggest tip I can give you. Probably not the most helpful answer because I know you're hoping for specifics. What I see and experience in the fics I read won't necessarily be the same things you see. So just, read more. Consume more. Enjoy more. That's how you get the best feel for what people enjoy. There really are no rules, no limits, no expectations other than to have fun and enjoy what you're reading and writing within the space. As for music production, best guess? Google or youtube lol. there's bound to be industry explanations and break downs for that. names too, when in doubt you can always pick an idol you don't like and just make them the villain but it's the same idea, just look up korean names and hope something jumps out at you.

Heyy im someone who's planning to write my first ever fic for slickfest. Since u r an expert, can I please know some like olden omegaverse facts? Like facts about omegaverses set in times with packs and mating runs and moon goddess believing times?
Would you believe it'll be my first time participating in slickfest too? I should note I am not an expert by any means. Just a little goofball with a hyperfixation that happens to be omegaverse. I guess the first thing that's the most important about all omegaverse AUs is that there's no like ... right or wrong way to depict it. The beauty and often the appeal of omegaverse to a lot of people is just how much you can do with it. You want your betas to have both parts? You can GIVE them both parts. You want omegas to be rarer and thus highly sought after? You can do that too. Feisty omegas, docile alphas, growling, purring, possessiveness that goes both ways. There's really nothing you CAN'T do. It has so much potential for creative expression and you can come up with new things too.
(Shout out to Nopebunny for glitter slick or Ays for giving more depth/lore to omega's with venom in their bites.)
Omegaverse is less about "facts" and more about widely accepted things within the AU space. Silently agreed upon ideas until someone comes up with something new that catches everyone's attention.

Also I don't think there's really a specific time frame for pack dynamics or mating runs? Sure I've seen a bunch done in more nondescript eras but I feel like you can have them be whenever? Modern day mating run with drones keeping track of the contestants and so on. (although this gives me hunger games vibes lol). I'm also a little ashamed to admit, I haven't kept up with moon goddess lore much so I can't really comment on it.

on the subject of horror, are you familiar with a horror game called 'fears to fathom'? I might have something for stalker mnho inspired by the fourth chapter of this game, and maybe I need a little help with it if you'd like to have a peak and tell me your thoughts ♡
it's supposed to be a self-prompt for a fest, but even if I don't entre the fest, I'm still planning to write it, (and upload it on ao3.) I'm outlining the story while trying to swallow my anxiety & overthinking down and just write it ~~

I love absolutely everything to do with soulmates/fated mates. the idea that there's this perfect person for everyone. a matching puzzle piece. two halves of a whole. it's sappy, it's sweet, there's so much potential for literally everything. I definitely need/want to write more.

what kind of books do you like/love?
I am the biggest sucker for fantasy and horror, but like BIG fantasy. the giant/epic tales like Brandon Sanderson's novels. (I own almost all of them lol) but I also have a soft spot for anything that makes me think. getting lost in a book that makes me think long after the book is over will always be a favorite.

long story shot, mnho is a middle-aged salary man, gay and depressed. he gets sick one day while on the clock and when he tries to get home he almost passes out on the street. a boy helps him (the first time that someone takes care of him) mnho falls in love and starts to obsess over the cute college boy & plans to make a space for him in his apartment with his beloved cats <3
I've been hooked on stalker thoughts for the last two weeks, so I'm glad I could be of use to someone else lol. I hope you tag me so I can read it and I'm glad I could help ❤️

You can do this !!! I am sure you will write really nice stuff ! Take a nap to rest and recharge batteries and then let your mind wander and write what goes on !
Letting my mind wander has been a problem though! Because then I end up with too many ideas 😔 but also thank you 🫶
