I have this major omegaverse prompt that takes place during the Japanese occupation of Korea, roughly set in the 1890s. When the Gabo Reform of 1895 set giseangs free by abolishing the slave system, Yongbok (rid of Felix because of the historical framing) traded them for the arts of becoming a geisha in order to have an income as the influx of Japanese soldiers was prominent. He becomes hated amongst Koreans/Joseoners(?) as a traitor but becomes the most beloved geisha in capital as the “Sunlight of Hanyang/Hanseong/Keijō/(Seoul)” for his yellow colored hair and freckles that carried the warmth of sunny days. He’s so popular amongst the Japanese imperial army that he often makes appearances at banquets, festivals, and parties to perform a dance or entertain the soldiers. The outcome of his career is beautiful despite the setbacks of his own people spitting on his name and punishing him when he passes on the streets, but it’s worth it in the end as the money and gifts he receives go straight towards each and every orphan that lands at his front doors in the late night, who need a home before they can be hidden on a boat towards Qing (China) and away from the horrors of occupation. At a New Years festival in the Japanese district of Hanyang/Hanseong, he performs a dance for the crowd after a few drunk soldiers begged him to. When he does with practiced fluidity, he makes eye contact with infamous Taishō (high ranking General or Admiral) Lee Minho. An Alpha that was punished to bore his mother’s maiden name and carried half of her Korean heritage through his veins. The only known Alpha and soldier in the imperial army that was half-Korean and half-Japanese. When their eyes meet, it awakens something deep and primal that yearns out of their chest. A calling. Mates.
