he cares for dayinta because she represents a chapter where he finally felt like he could choose peace. BUT, caring for someone and being absolutely immune to your past are two different things and sabian knows that. that’s exactly why he keeps himself so controlled because he does have a past that affected him deeply

the thing is, his relationship with kyra was a turning point in his life (something that shaped him in ways dayinta never will) and he’s come to accept that kyra was a phase he had to go through
