Hiii as a lover of David lynch, which work of his do you think I should start with? I have always seen bits of his work like trailer on dvds back in the day or references etc. But I always somehow felt intimidated to watch? Anyway I feel a weird pull these days to finally jump into his work soooo would love to have some recs from you
oooh!! everyone will have a different response to this but if you’re totally unfamiliar and you find his work intimidating, i would would start with Twin Peaks. If you want to start with a film, I would say Blue Velvet or Mulholland Drive. Those are all quintessential Lynch, particularly if you’re drawn to his neo-noir style. I do love Eraserhead so if you wanna go sort of ~Medium Weird with it, you could try that but idk if I would start with it.
I’d also recommend the docu film about him, The Art Life, but personally I would watch at least one film / TP before I did that. The payoff will be better
Also not related to his films but check out his paintings! i have such a soft spot for them

hi alice! i've been following for a while (from ur writing) and i've been seeing your posts about your mom and i just wanna give u a massive hug. i know words on the internet isn't much but i hope somehow, knowing someone is (spiritually) holding your hand through your grief can ease your heart even a tiny bit. i'd lost my aunt and my little cousin i'm very close to last year, and ik it's never really the same, how we carry the losses and the love that lies in its wake, but i guess i want to somehow say there's someone who understands, right now, at this moment, even from far away. maybe i'm being selfish and just want confirmation someone also understands me right now, haha! i didn't really think about what to say til i got here. anyways, sorry if this is so random. but i hope your days are kind to you. sending you all my love!
this is really lovely anon thank you <3 one thing i’m learning is that seeing other people talk about grief is immensely comforting, and that’s been kind of a surprising…not upside lol that sounds bad but you know. there’s good things in everything, even the really bad stuff. so if talking about it is helpful to other people, i’m glad. grief is untranslatable but if you know it, you understand other people who grieve. that’s what i think anyway

I saw a post about Marx and Engels (I will not get political I swear don’t worry) and remembered that you were asking for jeongcheol prompts and this inspired me to remember that I once thought of writing Marx/Engels yaoi… like… gif you think about it - objectively - Engels was literally paying for Marx’s every expense so that Marx could think and write… Engels was - in today’s terms - Marx’s sugar daddy, Marx was his intellectual sugar baby. I have not looked intı whether anyone has ever written Marx/engels yaoi before me, but I will die on this hill (I also think engels’ writing was lowkey more interesting, monogamy and patriarchal family structures being a result of private property and inheritance politics like yeahhh)
Anyway I think jeongcheol would work for this, maybe not the exact Marx/engels thing but like rich nobleman jeonghan who becomes the sugar daddy of inspiring artist/writer/something seungcheol (or the other way around is fine too idk) and there has to be a barn i can’t explain why but old period stories have to have horses and farms
i genuinely cannot even begin to describe the euphoria i experienced opening this website to a message that began “i saw a post about marx and engels and remembered you were asking for jeongcheol prompts”, after spending the last two hours writing marketing slop about latex pillows. thank you

yesss ok actually cat and i have walked about this and i don’t think jeonghan would ever go on love is blind UNLESS joshua wanted to go on there but didn’t want to go alone, and jeonghan did it as emotional support not actually intending to find anyone. seungcheol signs up for it the second he hears about it and begs mingyu to go on it with him
(gyushua figure out halfway through the pod dates that they once hooked up out in the real world but neither of them admits it because they don’t want to be disqualified)(seungcheol falls in love with jeonghan instantly even though jeonghan spends their first two dates being like im not actually here to date, don’t pick me)(but then they both keep picking each other day after day)
