Hi, I noticed someone asked about the word limit for fic samples and you said that it's increasing to 2.5k words. The form still says 1k to 2k, so I just wanted to double-check that it's now 2.5k please before I get my samples together. Thanks!
Hi!! I did change it, not sure why Google Forms decided not to process it but I've altered it again and HOPEFULLY it should've worked!
But yes, it is 2.5k max for samples!

What is the special assignment role?
The Special Creative role is basically any creative talent that doesn't fall under Page Art, Merch Art or Writing! Some examples commonly utilized in projects like this are:
Cosplay
3D Modelling
Plushie Maker
Musician
Animation
However, if you can make a strong case, we are willing to consider almost anything! :D

Can someone choosen to be a page artist for the main Zine also be in the bonus zine if they can provide a different drawing for each ?
- We'll be assigning people to either one zine or the other so we can get as many contributors in as possible!! So if you have a preference for one, make sure to voice that!!

On February 28th you posted an image of a Spamton acrylic keychain and a Tenna acrylic keychain. Are you affiliated with the person who designed/made those?
I said this in the comments to someone who asked, but we're not affiliated, nor are those being used for the zine. The image was included mostly as a cute little 'here's us locking in' image.
I did try to look for the artist to the person who mentioned it in our comments, but it seems like the seller took the listing down on both Etsy and Ko-Fi? So if something happened around that, the team isn't aware.

This might be a dumb question but should we make a portfolio before entering if we don’t already have one?
- Yes please!! Even if it's just a collection of art/writing/etc pieces in a Google Drive, we would like some kind of portfolio. :)

What if I have art portfolio but not samples.. how harshly do you judge samples over the portfolio? I’m intimidated to make complete works purely for the submission
- You can use pieces from your portfolio as examples! We won't mark down if we see your samples in your portfolio. Nothing new necessarily needs to be made for your application if you don't have the time.

I’m looking to be a page artist and the only portfolio I have is on ArtStation. Is there a preferred platform the portfolios need to be on? And does it need to be a proper professional looking one?
- As long as we can access the portfolio, the site and the professionality of it doesn't matter! Just try and keep it easy enough to navigate (which shouldn't be an issue if it's Artstation as it's relatively easy to navigate from my experience.)

For merch artists, will we have funding?
- Our FPS mod will be the person handling the actual manufacturing processes and finances, so that isn't something the Merch Artists will need to worry about! All you'll need to do is create the designs for the merch you're assigned.

I'm a writer and I've never taken part in a zine. For the portfolio section, can I make recommendations on which ones to read since fics presumably would take longer to look through than other art forms? And I assume ao3 is a portfolio?
[1]: Your 'recommendations' can be your sample pieces! We use portfolios as a tie breaker of sorts, so whatever is in your samples takes priority.
[2]: Yes, AO3 is a Portfolio! Though we'd recommend you make a Series so you can sort through what you will and won't include from your fics.

this could either be a stupid question or i missed it somewhere but, is there a seperate application for the bonus zine? or does that get sorted after all the contributors have been chosen?
- Nope, it gets sorted in the end! There are questions on the form asking you to state your preference (unless you're a Special Creative which is the only role not split across both Zines) and we will include which Zine you're working on when you get your acceptance message!
