If you could only recommend one book or a movie/series for me, what would it be?
I'd recommend Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky because it offers a fascinating exploration of human psychology, morality, guilt, and the consequences of one's actions. It's the sort of book that stays with you long after you've turned the final page, at least for me the effect it'd stays a bit longer! Would you read it though?
Kasih aku 3 pernyataan tentang karakter kalian. 2 jujur, 1 bohong. Biar kutebak mana yang bohong.
Good luck for your guess!
What's the most important thing in your writing style/method?
LANCE: I think the most important thing in my writing style is understanding how my characters develop their feelings and what makes those feelings meaningful to them? I mean, I like exploring the little things that lead someone to fall in love, grow attached to another person, or realise that their feelings have changed over time. For me, it’s not only about the relationship itself, but also about the circumstances, conversations, and seemingly ordinary moments that bring two people closer together. I want my characters’ feelings to feel natural and genuine, as though they grow out of their experiences rather than simply appearing out of nowhere. Whether I’m writing romance, unrequited love, or platonic affection, I always want to understand the why behind what my characters feel before deciding how to put those feelings into words.
To the writer: What genre are you most comfortable writing, and what genre do you avoid the most? Why? 🎤
LANCE: he genre I feel most comfortable writing is romance, particularly stories in which a character develops one-sided feelings for someone close to them. Lately, though, I’ve found myself interested in exploring more than just unrequited love. I want to understand how my characters fall for someone they fancy, what sort of circumstances bring those feelings to the surface, and what makes them realise that they’ve grown attached to another person. Whether those feelings turn out to be romantic or purely platonic, I find it fascinating to explore how affection develops between two people and how seemingly ordinary moments can lead to something meaningful.
As for the subject I tend to avoid the most, it would have to be death. I’m not entirely sure why, but I suppose I’m simply not ready to write about my characters dying or having to face the loss of someone they love. Perhaps, for now, there are still too many feelings surrounding the subject that I haven’t learnt how to put into words.
