Kaguya-sama: Love is War gego AU
Where Satoru and Suguru are in love but refuse to confess, believing it would be a sign of weakness. So, they are continuously trying to get the other person to fold. Whether it's a battle of wits where they try to force the other to confess, putting themselves in a very romantic situation or something a little more spicy like when Satoru just "forgets" to wear his pajamas when he walks out of the shower in only a lacy pair of blue panties.
Until one day... Suguru can't take it anymore.
"I love you." Suguru finally confesses.
"Why?" Satoru asks, every fiber of his being feeling lit aflame.
"Why?" Suguru choruses with his dark eyebrows knit together cutely.
"Why do you love me? Because I'm smart? Because I'm beautiful?" Suguru stares at him for only a moment before he opens his mouth and says with so much ease it's almost infuriating:
"I mean, you are just as smart as you are beautiful but that isn't why...I love you because you cry during romance movies and you bite your lip when you concentrate too hard and I have to cut the crust off your sandwiches. I love you because you think of others first even though you like to act like a spoiled brat. I love you for always encouraging me that I can do anything. I love all of those things and so much more. Every little puzzle piece that completes you." And, maybe after this... Satoru doesn't view confessing first as a weakness but a strength.

its funny because all his life, Gojo was only told the same exact reasons why he was loved; smart, beautiful, strong. always the surface level stuff, so he always didn't feel anything whenever people tell him such things, but never down to the nitty gritty. he always thought they were never going to outright say, "i love you" to each other because well, their actions speak for themselves. whether its satoru is eyeing some of his food on his plate until he slides it over without a second thought, how suguru always comes home with something from satorus favorite sweet shop, how he knows after a long grueling day suguru likes to have a cup of tea to wind down and relax, so he timed the exact time suguru comes home to begin brewing, or how suguru isnt a morning person but he always has such a death grip on satoru so he doesnt mind waiting in his arms until he wakes up.
suguru keeping track of such miniscule things that he wouldn't even think twice about does wonders to the millions of butterflies going crazy in his stomach. so after that, 'i love you' is always something thats said before the morning starts, and always as the night ends
