hello! I signed up as an author but it's my first fest ever, can I ask what the interim check-in consists of exactly? <3

the mods are so glad to hear you decided to join us for your first fic fest! the interim check-in is simply just a midway check-in to gauge authors’ progress. there will be a simple form that is sent out to everyone to confirm your continued interest in participating and the progress authors have made on their fics to determine when postings will begin/whether the submission date will remain the same. we also will be doing an anonymous WIP event where authors can submit a short snippet of their fic in the same form

now that the sign ups close in a few days, after the deadline, can you tell us how many authors have signed up?

absolutely not! author sign-ups are still open until june 10th! we would love to have you join us!

Hi! I was wondering if chaptered fics are allowed for this fest. I’m around 70% done with my fic now, and I feel like the reading experience might work better if it’s posted in a few chapters instead of one long chapter.

Would it be allowed, for example, to submit/post the first chapter by the deadline and then post the remaining chapters after reveals? I’m completely fine with posting everything at once. Just wanted to ask for clarification in case anyone else might be wondering too. Thank you! :)

yes, chaptered fics are allowed! we completely understand if posting it in chapters makes more sense for you! posting one chapter and then the rest after reveals would be perfectly acceptable! it is up to you how you would like it to be posted in that regard!

if we finished our first prompt already (claimed and confirmed back when prompts opened) and want to claim a second one, can we just go for it? or should we inform you about it? :)

that is amazing! we are so excited to hear that you have already finished one work! if you decide to claim another prompt, you can feel free to do so on ao3, but please either dm or email us to let the mods know you are claiming a second prompt!

yes, you absolutely can still sign up! we would love to have you, and i am certain you will do a great job writing out the prompt. if you are interested, please fill out the author sign up form and feel free to claim the prompt, but please either dm or email us when you do!

Hi! I wanted to ask when authors who made a late prompt claim will receive their confirmation email? I claimed a prompt a few days ago and haven't received any emails yet, so I just want to know how long I might have to wait hehe. thank you!

now that the bulk of claiming has been completed, the mods do not frequently check the recent claimed prompts. if you have not received an email confirming your claim, then you can dm/email us! all claims should now be up to date so you should have received an email confirming your claim, but please let us know if you have mot received it yet!

Hello! I'm a bit late to joining as an author/claiming, I just signed up! Should I wait to get a confirmation email before claiming my prompt?

you can go ahead and claim a prompt, but please send us a dm/email when you claim it so that we can update our records and confirm your prompt!

Hi! i saw that like claiming is open till june 10th soo lets say an author wants to like idk not do the prompt they originally wanted so is it possible to not claim the prompt like unclaim it and claim an another prompt? this is coming from a prompter whos only 1 prompt got claimed and i rlly want someone to write i alsoooo ty guys for ur hard work! have a good day mods and dear admin!

hi!! theoretically, this could be the case. we have had a few authors ask to change the prompt they claimed, but it is not common! hopefully the author who claimed your prompt will continue writing it, and you can check the prompt itself on ao3 periodically to see if it is still claimed throughout the process, and that should hopefully give you a good indicator that it is being written!
