What was your favorite subject in school?

Science all the way! More specifically, I was especially fond of astronomy and chemistry. I used to love learning about the planets in our solar system—particularly what their atmospheres and crusts are made of. Those interests eventually led me to lean more toward chemistry. I became fascinated by the chemical elements and the many compounds they can form, especially ones that don’t exist under normal conditions.

For example, helium normally exists as an inert noble gas and doesn’t bond with other elements. However, under extreme conditions (say 113 GPa, which is the same pressure fount in the Earth's mantle) helium can actually bond with sodium ions to form sodium helide (Na₂He).

Sorry for nerding out🤓
