Why U draw Deimos as a girl ((not complaining tho I love ut
Apologies First To Ien reading this...
I draw / headcanon Deimaus as a girl because a lot of his characterization is built around contradictions that read more clearly to me through a feminine lens, especially the mix of self-righteousness, childish softness, and emotional volatility. He’s obsessed with being ... " good " . wants closeness to the point of suffocation, clings to friends physically, and oscillates between politeness and violence when things don’t go his way. His squeaky voice, small body, love for plushes and crafts (paired with shame!), and constant nervousness give him an energy that feels fragile rather than dominant, even when he’s being obnoxious or controlling ☺️🤏 for me, drawing him as a girl helps emphasize that contrast: someone who wants moral authority and control but is visibly needy, and emotionally exposed. It also highlights how his " nice guy " mentality, desire for heaven, and fixation on togetherness aren’t about masculinity or femininity as roles, but about fear, attachment, and self-image. Well. Visually framing him as a girl just makes those traits sharper and more honest for how I interpret him, especially since the " jobs " in this setting aren’t fixed or symbolic of forced roles anyway
A part of an analysis i wrote on Deimaus explains it a bit further?:
"At his deepest core, his vulnerability is physical, emotional, and social and it reads as softness, which is where the sense of girlhood quietly emerges. His small, pale body and squeaky voice mark him as fragile and visible, someone who cannot easily perform toughness or authority without overcompensating~He reacts to feelings immediately and intensely, not because he is reckless, but because he lacks the emotional armor expected of him. His nervousness, childish comforts, and desire to be held or to hold others reveal a sensitivity that feels closer to girlhood than boyhood: a state of being watched, judged, and expected to behave correctly while feeling everything too much. This vulnerability isn’t weakness but it’s an exposed interior, one that makes him ache for protection, belonging, and gentleness, even as he tries to bury those needs under control, rules, and righteousness"
