what are your thoughts about the platform, AO3 being a "free" community letting people fantasize deranged tropes, i know you can practice "don't like, don't read" but sadly everyone isn't like that, making this community part of the problem? feeding the predators minds, since it's a public domain. You know like– they get turned on over this plots, there's likely they crave them too irl, when factually speaking our brain finds it hard to separate reality from fiction. (im not hating btw i do read them too myself, but when seeing discourse about this topic idk where to side since both have points? lol)

hello! i understand what u mean, since its a public space, we are basically giving them content. and i agree that the author and the reader has mutual responsibilities about topics like this. but overall, we cannot regulate whatever a person would consume, and i would say, one is aware that it is wrong (irl). then if it is blurring the lines for them, it is also their responsibility to regulate themselves or maybe go through therapy. bc fiction mirrors real life but it should not bleed to real life either. authors should also take great care in creating stories like that, to treat it with care and nuance of knowing this is not something to condone irl. the internet is full of things one should not see tbh, so for me, it really is all about being aware of urself and regulating ur own. our responsibility first and foremost is ourselves id say
