Hello !! I had sent an application but I cannot find any emails / any sorts of response, I have also checked my spam! It may be an issue on my side, but I'm wondering what I should do? Unless I am mistaken and not everyone will receive a response, if so then I apologize > < !! But either way I simply want to know if I have missed something/ something went wrong on my side. Thank you and sorry for the ask 🙏🙏
hi, could you send us an email with your name you applied with?
Hi!! I sent an application in a couple days ago, but I had no clue if it went through and I’m kind of panicking?? Who’d be the best person to contact about this?
Hi! If you wanna send us an email with your name we can help you out :)
if i wanna apply for both page and merch artist, do i send 2 portfolios or is 1 fine?
We do ask that you submit a portfolio for both roles for ease of sorting when we go through applications, but overlap between the two is okay.
Do writing applications also require a portfolio? There is not a portfolio submission spot on the writer application page, only one for the three sample pieces.
Our writer applications do not require a portfolio, your 3 samples are all we need :)
What I meant by "doesnt rly align with my schedule" is id rather do my piece(s?) mostly in Dec and jan. Ik that's the drafting time but I was wondering if I could just do pieces on my own and if any get accepted cool if theyre rejected sure I just do smth else with them. Also bc I wont have adequate samples ready by the application deadline.
This zine is a collaborative project with check-in stages, so in coherence to our guidelines we need all contributors to be able to adhere to our zine schedule and application process. If you want to inquire about this further, I'm going to ask that you email us as it's troublesome to try and solve personal problems in an anonymous, public forum, thank you!
Do we need to put our exact age down? Is something like "above 20" enough?
That's fine! The question is just to ensure that all contributors are above 16
Do I need to have the samples in their own folder or can I submit links to 3 files? All my samples will also be in my portfolio (Drive folder).
We would prefer if the samples are in their own folder, but you can also submit as separate files if need be.
hello! when you say "detailed backgrounds", i'm assuming you're talking about backgrounds that arent a single color/just patterns/etc, but do you prefer to see artwork that are characters on a scene (basically theyre interacting with the environment)? or is it basically just backgrounds that are rendered and you can see detail in them?
Yes, we want to see your ability to create rendered backgrounds. It can be both environment interaction and rendering skills. If you want to submit one piece that's solely focused on a background, that's fine too! Obviously, not all pieces lend to a detailed background, we understand this, and will evaluate on a case by case basis. We urge you to use your 3 samples as the best you can give us, as they are your representation of what you can bring to this zine :)
I dont have the time to create sample pieces right now and I don't have good preexisting samples. Also, the zine schedule doesn't work well with mine. Can I just make pieces and if and when I'm done, ask you guys if any of them could be in the zine. If they cant ill just post them myself ig
We regret to inform you that if you cannot adhere to the zine schedule we cannot allow you to participate in the zine. Thank you for your interest.
Can the portfolio pieces be for other fandoms/ocs?
Your portfolio pieces can be from other sources, we just ask that you have at least one l/n or mmj member featured for your sample pieces
