Hs would crave Jy’s companionship if he were a vampire but he holds so much respect for him that if Jy said no to being turned, Hs would just bury himself alive and suffer immortality locked away. For being able to live forever is pointless torture if he cant do it with the one person whos always been there.

A life of immortality alone is basically a sentence to hell, his yearning for an equal (ish) companionship above every other instinct.
