Masturbatory Question About My Porn Drawing Thought Process
I think about porn in 3 facets of my persona: being old, being gay, being spiteful.
I like old H-Game composition, like PC-98 or Win95 sort of stuff. Working with a very limited real estate and small data foot-print, artists have to squeeze the most they can out of that 4:3 or less resolution, and make each CG count. Plus, a lot of CGs have to be composed in a way where elements can be modified or added, making erotica out of single panel. It's awesome.
I'm sure there's a very good essay about a trans lesbian about growing up and wondering why straight porn never hit so I'll spare you. But when I'm drawing two women going at it, I want to accentuate both of them, I gotta make them both insanely hot and revel in all their wonder in that single condensed frame. If I'm going to draw your favorite Vtuber fucking Izve, I'm going to want to capture her best while also getting my shine in. This is usually what slows me down though, and I guess I'll get back to that in a minute.
Spite is a recent one. When I see someone make porn and do something I don't agree with, I say "I can do better". There's no wrong way to do art, but I'm going to do what appeals to me most. Like when I see someone draw two women in a missionary style position and the artist puts a little window to show the penetration, I armchair artist and go "just draw a second picture or don't do that at all buddy!!". I think this is partially influenced by a friend who shows me a lot of yuri of corpo vtubers where they're no An Understander. I jerk off to these characters, but in a fundamentally different way to you that makes us foes. This is my problem, but I will enlighten you.
So to go back to "this slows me down", I will labor over unique composition and positions in order to get the most out of my single porn drawing. So I take forever to get something and sometimes the challenge is a great thing to overcome and expands my abilities. But sometimes I'm trying to cum and my complexes get in the way! So what I really should just do is draw a doujin. If I a draw a doujin, I don't have to make every panel count. I can resist doing the hard parts and instead refine my fundamentals more.
Anyway, that's why it took like 4 hours to draw Aya mating pressing Izve and I didn't get to do like 8 individual drawings of every possible position.
