HELLO ANON u must be one of my ig moots :D OK FIRST OF ALL: warning lang na Vv random ng books na nireread ko TvT i'm not rlly the person who can't stick w one genre KAYA BARE W IT HJAHAUHJJS !! and i've read A lot pero these are the books na i could reco muna (iba d kopa na rarate eh katamad) some of them mabibili mo sa fully booked and some of them sa online ko lang binasa! 🙂‍↔️ magyayap nlng ak DAHIL DI RIN AK NAMAN SANAY MAG BOOK REVIEW

heart of a dog / a dog's heart by mikhail bulgakov! ts is sci-fi but classic one or so-called "soviet literature" its about a stray dog that turned into a human (💧surgeons transplant a DEAD CRIMINAL into the dog 💧) i won't say a lot baka ma ruin ko yung fun & honestly!! its kinda hard to think of this and i could say na this is weird too but surprisingly relevant. it has lots of black humor and some very horror-y vibe but otherwise, this is a fun read!

and skl even tho i have a decent understanding of the soviet union, i still feel like i missed some of the satire t__t but im planning to make bawi sa "the master and margerita" this have been going A LOT thru my tl and im sure din na this is good din :D

a cup of sake beneath the cherry trees by yoshida kenkō one of the easy read kasi this is a collection of reflective prose AND ITS A JAPANESE LITERATURE (i found this gem thru my journalist teacher kaya i have no doubts to this) + chill lang to hehe

the great gatsby by scott fitzgerald though this book is widely admired and opinions about it vary, i found it very enjoyable and interesting, but not kinda memorable to me. i really thought yung una it was about yearning but no! i realized it’s more about illusion and self-deception, which makes it quite devastating. however, i still recommend this cause of its beautiful writing and deeper themes about ambition that are worth thinking about!

ways of seeing by john berger 100% would reco if you're an artist. found this during my philosophy class! as the title suggests, it will change how you see art and media. i can’t say this is a bad thing—wonderful, even! it shows so much insight, and i love how it was written.

the martian by andy weir this was reco by a friend and honestly 'di ko pa tapos BUT IM LOVING IT OK its a sci-fi ! 'di muna ako magyayap (pag natapos ko nalangHAUAHWHAH)

the picture of dorian gray by oscar wilde one of my most annotated books and it was thought-provoking (a good thing as a person who thinks a lot) it has so many lines that stayed with me and ONE OF MY FAVES ARE : "live! live the wonderful life that is in you! let nothing be lost upon you. be always searching for new sensations. be afraid of nothing.” this ones worth reading and beginner friendly! after all it was written by oscar wilde

frankenstein (1818) by mary shelleym sci-fi again OMD marami naka misunderstood neto noon and commonly described as frightening, but i find it more philosophical! SOBRANG WOW DIN AK SA MOVIE adaption and i’ve even memorized a few quotes from it, including one that reflects on how, if beautiful beings can suffer, then it is understandable that i, as an imperfect and lonely creature, might also feel misery 💔 i love how the “monster” is more human than you expect, kumbaga sa emotions 🚬 i can't say more basta UMIYAK AK DITO HAAHWAHWWW

the unabridged journals of sylvia plath a memoir lang,,, easy read and brutally honest ++ ITS SYLVIA PLATH naman anon trust the goat

giovanni’s room by james baldwin a short story but soooo much emotion in it! ahuhu sobrang ganda neto naiiyak talaga ako IT HAS SO MUCH GOOOD LINES AND MY MOST ANNOTATED BOOK DIN t___t one of may fave line was: "if you cannot love me, i will die. before you came i wanted to die, i have told you many times. it is cruel to have made me want to live only to make my death more bloody" 🗣️ the setting was in paris which i really love! BASTA IDEK HOW TO DESCRIBE HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS WAS

the correspondent by virginia evans i LOVE HOW VIRGINIA EVANS write grabe . this was my most random read na book and i didn't expect that i will like t__t i really love the letters sm! para syang chicken soup teenage soul (if ykyk) the character is so human and sooo real IDK HOW TO DESCRIBE IT but it resonate me sm na parang ako si sybil choz but i'm bawling while reading the last pages (parang lahat naman iniiyakan ko bwiset)

i who have never known men by jacqueline harpman ts is a extremely popular book!
and considered as dystopian (pero for me this is so different sa mga usual dystopian na nabasa ko) it left so many unanswered question 🫪 pero still! maganda pa rin basahin for it how portrayed being a human hehe

breasts and eggs by mieko kawakami honestly i saw this sa clock app and surprisingly maganda siya! it expresses womanhood which i like hehe its a feminist literature!

an apprenticeship or the book of pleasures by clarice lispector 🙌 hands up for lispector (ndi kopa tapos) BUT I ALREADY LOVE HOW THIS WAS WRITTEN

agua viva by clarice lispector CLARICE IS SUCH A GEM ever since na discover ko siya it never leaves my mind,,, and when u read this one naman you'll feel like the narrator! short read lang din but intense

the anti-christ by friedrich nietzsche this ones provocative critique of religion and morality (literally my EYE OPENING) i was really into philosophy before discovering other genre and one of my goat was friedrich, sometimes my friends calls me nietzsche for being his fan and defender TvT however, i rlly like him kasi our views and perspective are so similar and i fear knowing him will say A LOT about me .

solitaire by alice oseman one of my fave coming of age book! i first discovered it when i was 13 through a podcast, and even now, it still resonates with me just as strongly t__t and this really shape me for who i am today

crush by richard siken! OMFD siken!! i was rlly known for being his fan ever since AND SA SOBRNG LODI KO SIYA my writing now bleeds siken . not complaining tho! sobrang ni rereco koto sa mga friends ko WUHUHU basta pag nabasa mo poems niya baka maiyak tayo parehas

how we weep and laugh at the same thing by montaigne vv short read! full lang siya ng classic essays about human nature :D chill lang din 'to but i do not desire to read it again for some reasons . z Zzz

the yellow wallpaper by charlotte perkins gilman an psychological fiction! seriously lang this creeps me out kasi i read this during halloween pa TvT DIDN'T KNOW NA MEDYO SCARY SYA IN A PSYCHOLOGICAL WAY ala talaga me alam about this book and i randomly bought this online t__t but nonetheless, chill naman siya and its about mental health (NDI NAMAN HORROR HAUAJAJ)

crime and punishment by fyodor dostoevsky HONESTLY most annotated book ko rin 'to and took me 2-3 weeks to finish (worth it tho) siguro sobrang empath ko lang talaga kaya iniyakan ko si rodion HHAAHAHAHA sobrang deep dive into guilt and morality kasi! OML but ewan ko kung easy read eh. kapag translation naman ni david easy sya for beginner! ALSO a lot of lines stays with me lalo na when he talks w sonya . one of the lines that stayed was "i talk nonsense, therefore i'm a human" tas after nyan puro nonsense n talaga lumabas sa bunganga ko chos!

OK ANDAMI N NYAN ewan ko nalang kung basahin mopa anon basta yan !LOL! puro yap nalang talaga HAAHHUHHUH idk kung trustworthy ba taste ko sa books but anw yung iba naman dyan good read talaga i swear 😇🤚 if nabasa mona pls tell me and judge mo na rin nd lets have a chika chika sesh :3 I SO LOVE THIS TYPA SHI HAUAUWUUEWWIAJJWHYA >__< ily for asking!
