Mina my beloved <3 I'm just going to ignore that first part lmao

My favorite fic I've ever written is hard, though it's obviously going to have to be one of my long fics. I like them all, but by different metrics. My top 3 are probably 'Don't Be So Nice to Me,' 'I Saw This Really Cute Guy,' and 'Planes, Motels and Snowballs.'

DBSNTM is very near and dear to my heart because a lot of it is very personal and inspired by my real-life experiences as a teen. It was also my third long fic, and I feel like that's when I really started to... like, know what I was about as a writer? I like 'Everything Rises' and 'Did You Get Enough Love' too, but they are more generic and tame compared to my subsequent fics. For DBSNTM, I was out to make something personal, just for the sake of it, really. I had written my other fics for fun too ofc, but the writing experience for this one was different, and it felt more free? It's more intimate to me, I guess.

Then, my very next long fic was ISTRCG, and that was my first dark long fic. For ISTRCG, I had settled on just writing the most insane thing ever, like purely whatever I wanted to happen would happen. It was a massive change from my previous long fics, and that was really fun. I would literally get stuck in certain places, ask myself, "What's the most insane thing that could happen rn?" and then write exactly that. It's not very popular compared to my other long fics, but all the comments I received on it really opened my eyes to the fact that other people did like that sort of content too, and that gave me the confidence to continue writing dark and DDDNE stuff.

Last, but not least - PMAS. I just love this fic so, so much. I was having a pretty hard time writing it, but, I don't know, the vibe and feeling of it is just so wonderful to me. It's inspired by the 80s movie 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' (or as I somehow always call it, 'Planes, Trains and Airplanes' lol). Honestly, I just love that movie, and I cannot emphasize this enough. I actually hadn't planned on writing a Christmas long fic. My original plan after Kinktober had been to take November off, then only write the DBSNTM Christmas one-shot sequel for December. By the time mid-November rolled around, though, I really wanted to squeeze in one more long fic before the DBSNTM one-shot. I had recently rewatched the movie and just randomly decided that would be my holiday fic. Just thinking about PMAS makes me feel all warm and fuzzy instead lol
