when veecee was first created, a government project attempting to create a biological, sentient form of data preservation, it had a lot of different employees assigned to oversee the project. one of the employees, Cyrus, felt pity for veecee & let him free under the assumption that a creature that hasn't known anything but imprisonment would be able to learn compassion from one compassionate act. he went on a bit of a destructive spree before going into hiding, and the fallout from this got pretty much every employee responsible fired & Cyrus in particular heavily reprimanded. she felt very pitiful about this, stewing in it for a while, until a few years later it turned out Veecee had somehow managed to integrate just fine into society. out of scorn she decided to put all of her resources into trying the best she could to replicate the technology used to create a biological, technological organism- except being imperfect, it came out more uh.
