All my answers are to this LOL but my favorite thing about Ogata is how he shows love or respect. He's very cautious and he isn't the most outwardly loving and consciously pushes a lot of people that care about him away or even tries to get rid of them (Yuusaku, Asirpa, Sugimoto - in a way, Kiroranke, etc.), but when he respects you, he truly and deeply does. His relationship with Vasily is one of the clearest displays of him deeply respecting someone. Yes they're constantly on the hunt and trying to kill each other, but Ogata is clearly impressed and values Vasily's sniping skills and respects him as an individual. Even with the others such as Sugimoto and Asirpa, it's clear that he feels something with them that immediately makes him want to push them away. One of his constant internal battles is that he believes he is not deserving of love, so something about how Asirpa was defensive of him against her own best friend Sugimoto, and how she had admired him triggered his need to flee. Even with Yuusaku (and the catalyst of Ogata's internal battle), it's clear that Ogata wants to believe that Yuusaku does love him. I just love how insanely complex he is as a character and how he's more than just some traumatized soldier chump. He's, in my opinion, one of the most compelling characters in the anime/manga.

My first answer on this site LOL hi. But my main one is Ogata Hyakunosuke from Golden Kamuy (booooooo)... my second one is Kazuhira Miller from Metal Gear 🐱 but Ogata is my baby and my #1 forever. I avoided GK for a long time because I do not trust the fans like that, esp as an Indigenous person (I still don't. Gomen.) but Ogata always caught my eye... then when I got into it thanks to my wife, I knew it was meant to be! 🐱❤️ as for Kazuhira, I locked eyes with him first when I watched my dad play MGSV back in... ~2017? I fell in love instantly. Then when I got super into MGS, I became more and more obsessed with his character and his self. I personally headcanon him as Ainu thanks to my wife as well! I don't own any Kazu merch currently 😿 but I have a small Ogata shrine that will increase! 😸❤️
