I believe that the people you surround yourself with will play a part in your personality, whether you want them to or not. How many times have you not found a phrase through a friend, or a friend of a friend? How many times do you not laugh at their jokes, or them to you? How many times do you allow them to filter joy and sorrow into your life? In a less convoluted sense ... Those with a good sense of boundary and identity will not see their friends as reflections of themselves but rather tethers to connection that their heart desires and festers. Those with a lack of boundary and instability will see their friends as a reflection of themselves. The healthier you are, the more you can be friends with people of different opinions and know which circuses you wish to run.

I'm someone who acts the same with all people, incapable of a filter ... So, I must set more boundaries in place to ensure that nothing permeates my brain that may disease it. But overall, I believe the person makes the environment rather than the opposite.
