it’s hard to understand how you think the people who are into shotacon are still likable and you still “like them as people”… but this is coming from a victim of pedophila when i was a child lol. this isn’t hate but i just can’t fathom on how you can justify that.. :( i really like you but i cannot wrap my head around that and it makes me so sad and disappointed.
okk anon. i'm not going to discount any of ur experiences at all btw, but have u considered that different people.. cope differently? when it comes to how people interact with fiction, i think things can be very nuanced. while i myself am not interested in shotacon or dead dove in general, i think you are discounting the experiences of the real people behind the screen, who would never condone these things in real settings, and often use them as mechanisms for their own trauma! these people are extremely aware of these actions being immoral in real settings anon, and they're genuinely very sweet people, who i see behind whatever they choose to write in their free time? i totally understand where you're coming from, because if you asked the 'me' from two years ago, i would agree with you! but i've learnt that things are not quite as black and white as they seem. while i don't directly relate to you with this in particular, i've had other traumatic experiences of mine reflected through fiction by someone who likely also went through something similar, and while it made me uncomfortable, i realised that how this person chooses to cope through their online space is completely up to them. at the end of the day, this debate's not one my answer is going to settle haha, and i totally get you being upset at me for it, but i hope me laying out my reasoning for you explains things more consisely, if you ever want to discuss it further, i don't mind, i hope you get to curate your space safely and comfortably, i really do <3
