i think my problem with red velvet is that they don’t fully commit to concepts or genres anymore, everything is somewhere inbetween their red and velvet concepts which does make their songs feel unique and not derivative but also ambiguous so the replayability is just bad. with their recent titles i always felt their verses were way too flat and boring so the chorus felt unfitting and overwhelming in comparison. but surfin boy did feel more cohesive! i also like orchestra and hawaii off the album
