I mean I don’t think westerners are going to be the change for Korea it will have to come from within. There are dozens of human rights issues that are ignored pertaining to their own citizens such as women’s rights, queer rights, and workers rights. I dont think their priority is going to be black people any time soon

no one thinks the entire country is racist omg Americans can say “the US is racist!” And people obviously understand we’re talking about its general history and the racist structures the country was built on that still pervades society today so why is everyone suddenly confused when the same thing is said about other countries that have a history of xenophobia and racism?

Obviously there are progressive Koreans. There’s a whole 4b feminist movement there, pride parades, and free Palestine rallies. This however does not mean that as a whole Korean society isn’t historically racist / xenophobic.
