You mentioning reinhart’s subject’s views on him is making me wonder how well off his own lands are compared to other nobles, and if the subordinates he has doing his job for them actually are competent in their duties, or are also taking advantage of the no-doubt fat (fittingly enough) pay they’re are being given?
reinhart's lands are fine, actually! his courtiers are very loyal to him (because they tend to be into his whirlwind of hedonism and gluttony almost as much as he is), and they're largely good at their jobs, resolving issues as they're brought up. the biggest issue is that his subjects are sometimes afraid to come to him with problems because of his reputation as cursed, and his courtiers usually stick close to his castle, so their fingers can fall off the pulse of what's happening on occasion
