Funny permablob deer Idea: some random band of benevolent but clueless adventurers actually somehow figure out and cure the noble of his fae-curse… which of course he has never even once asked to be cured, so he ends up in a totally not desperate search of the original fae in order to be re-cursed. Pooling together all his resources to find them (to less than stellar success) just to keep his ticket out of needing to actually take accountability over his lands…
i actually think the original fae who cursed him sticks close by! they're very interested in how their curse is turning out; it was originally just an idle practical joke, but it's turned into something much more entertaining. they like to slip in, glamoured as a member of his staff that everyone vaguely recognizes but no one knows well, and personally feed him, reinforcing their magic... i doubt they'd let their masterpiece go "cured" for long
