long!!!! it’s harder and takes a lot of time but i looove writing long fics. it helps me develop as a writer a lot more than when i write shorter works, tho this is probably very personal and can differ from individual to individual. writing long fics also really makes me go deep into the tiny universe i create as the writer and i feel that, at least when it comes to the way i write, it opens up space for more details, plots, characteristics, etc. i love working on something for a long period of time because when i get in the flow of it i can write for aaages on that particular work. i also always make notes beforehand whenever i have an idea for a long fic, like a whole doc filled with notes and details i want to include or things i want to happen, big or small. also personality traits for characters, or if im writing about something im not too knowledgeable at yet i do research and write down plenty of notes for that subject or whatever it may be. not intentional to ramble like this the question just got me excited dhhddhdj
