for the page artist application, what counts as a "background" ? are we talking fully-illustrated/depicted sets (ie living room, restaurant, cityscape, etc)? would a gradient + the honmoon (like in the climax of "what it sounds like") be considered a background?
A middle ground between the former and the latter is acceptable. For page art, one factor we'll be looking at is how you depict landscapes and perspective. Your backgrounds do not need to be super elaborate (though the more details, the better), but the use of props or a simple scene will help us understand that you know how to use the space in your compositions.

For writing samples, should works be previously published or unpublished? Or either?
Either is accepted for writing samples, it's only your final zine piece that should be previously unpublished to others.

For pitches for written pieces, would AUs (soulmarks, college, etc.) be acceptable, or should everything be strictly canon-compliant?
For now we are planning to keep content to canon, canon-compliant & canon-divergent, though if you have any ideas for AUs you are free to pitch them, if it fits into the zine's theme we may be able to allow it!

I was wondering if there was a reason you have 15 moderators?
No particular reason, but one benefit having more moderators on board ensures that any contributor's questions can be answered promptly!

Is there a reason you're taking on so many merch artists? I've very rarely seen any projects take on more than 6
The contributor numbers are just estimates for now based on the merch we plan to make. Once contributors and merch items are finalised, the contributor numbers in the project specs section of the Info Doc will be updated.

hi:) on the form for writing applications it says up to 3k words but i was wondering if it’d be okay if my submissions go a bit over …… i have 2 finished fics that are 3.1-3.4k words and was wondering if those would he fine or if i should trim them down:) sorry and Thank You 🫶
We will have an allowance of at most 150 words over or under the limit. Additionally, only 1 of your 3 samples needs to be from a completed piece, the other 2 can be from either completed pieces or excerpts.

Has the charity been determined for the zine?
Our charity has not been chosen yet, once all contributors have joined the server, we plan to ask them for their input on any charities that were named by those who have filled up our Interest Check form. We will announce the final chosen charity/charities sometime during the creation phase and before the preorder period.

Is suggestive stuff allowed in writer applications? And is it okay to depict weed being used in the writing samples (it would be while they're in California)? (these aren't connected btw, the instances of these are from two different fics)
Both suggestive and recreational drug use will be allowed in applications, though we ask that you put a content warning for both of them.
