Are there any limitations what characters can and cannot appear in our works for this Zine?
It's girls' night at Huntr/x headquarters! We ask that all pieces are Huntrix-centered & feature at least one of our girls.
Of course the Saja Boys are welcome to be included as well, but they shouldn't be the sole focus—we love our demon boy band, but this zine is a scrapbook made by Rumi, Mira, and Zoey!
All pieces should also focus on canon characters. Thank you!
Tumblr Ask:
Hi! I have two questions about writer applications!
The samples of our work and writing style need to be KPDH works only, or can we also send works from other fandoms?
And about non-fiction writing, does it mean we can write something related to the KPDH universe, but not a story itself? more like a real article or opinion?
thank you!
Bobby knows it's never too late to join the Hunters in supporting Huntrix! KDH samples are highly encouraged but not required, so you can send works from other fandoms in your application.
Non-fiction includes (but isn't limited to): Opinion articles or interviews, quizzes or guides, or other such written pieces. Keep in mind that these pieces are non-fiction but in-universe—so we're not looking for meta analyses or essays about KDH.
Non-fiction should fit the zine's theme of a scrapbook peek into the lives of the girls: think the types of writing you see for KPop bands in real life, but from the perspective of a character inside KDH!
Tumblr Ask:
For applying for writer, are we allowed to use WIPs/snippets as our samples? Or only finished works?
To smash the idol awards (and our applications) we need to see your best works demonstrating your style and skill.
Snippets or excerpts must be edited to function as a standalone story, and all pieces will need to be finished works. Find out more in our contributor guidelines on our info doc! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1x5U7r7JhqNIo-y3UE0xJ-5c8y3Jne3u6gvbnRUuD7Yg/
Tumblr Ask:
Hi! I have some art with skulls and/or snakes in my portfolio, do you consider those need a warning or do you consider them nsfw? Thank you!
Zoey—and our moderators—would appreciate a content warning for skulls and snakes, but these samples can be in your portfolio folder without a problem! NSFW is defined as explicit violence, gore, or sexual content that literally cannot be viewed at work. Thank you!
Tumblr Ask:
I was reviewing the contributor guidelines and had a quick question about portfolios. The document said that NSFW and gore should be in a separate folder, but what about fics with trigger warnings? Is having them listed at the beginning of the doc (like an Ao3 downloaded PDF) sufficient, or should those be in a dedicated folder as well?
Please put trigger warnings at the top of the sample and include the content warnings in your application form! If the sample is an AO3 link, tags at the top work just fine. These can be in the same folder as your portfolio.
Either way, content warnings should be included in the application form question as well. We can't wait to see your work!
Hello! I want to make sure I'm understanding correctly if we want to apply for both writing non fiction and fan fiction. How many samples would we need of each type? Or should we do two separate applications? Thank you!
Thanks for the Huntr/x fan mail!
To apply for both non-fiction and fanfiction, please submit one application with at least one sample of each type. We're so excited you want to write with us!
excuse me, I am a writer that is considering applying, and I was exclusively a nsfw writer for a long time until the last few years. I have two previous solid zine works, and a few other works that are non-published or orphaned now that I still have the original documents for. Would my previous writing presence be an issue or could I use a different pen name, as this fandom is one I haven't written for before but want to contribute to? My example pieces would be different fandoms.
Hello, that's no problem at all. While we do ask that all submitted pieces are SFW, KDH-related works are encouraged but NOT required for our applications. As for the pen name, please use whichever you're more comfortable with!
Can you please put mod responsibilities for the mod apps at beginning of app or in guidelines? Right now applicants have to answer multiple short answer questions before even seeing the description of the role they're applying for
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We have updated the Info Doc with the responsibilities for each mod. We look forward to receiving your application~
Is this a canon compliant project, or are AUs allowed? Since the Saja Boys canonically are only around for about two weeks, do any pieces with the have to occur during that 2 week time period, or can we do an alternate ending AU? Alternatively, am I perhaps severely overthinking this? ^ ^ ;;
Our project is open to canon, extended non-AU, as well as alternate ending AU pieces.
Whether you'd like to put the Saja Boys in a beach episode or show HUNTR/X in their pre-debut days, we'd love to see those ideas come to life!
