used to be a joshua biased jihanist and then boom one day jeonghan bias wrecked me. one thing that came out of this is that i am now able to enjoy reverse dynamics too. (i think the problem lies with me wanting my bias to bottom, so i was used to yoonhong, and then when jeonghan turned out to be my new bias, i immediately latched onto some reverse dynamics too. so now i enjoy both hy and yh)
being in the korean hy space (because there’s barely any international hy accounts), opened my third eye. there’s so much reciprocation from joshua’s side too. like i think when i was in yh side, i could only see the jeonghan is joshua obsessed narrative but when i entered the hy side, it was suddenly both are so obsessed with each other.
at one point i contemplated changing ships because i wanted more bottom jh content in eng, but jihan dynamic is so compelling and i felt the other main jh ship to be very very heteronormative (sadly, yh are also joining this list soon). now i read english yh and korean hy fics. life’s all good.

Okay wait, I’m actually curious about how you didn’t see the mutual obsession part before. I mean, I get that a lot of us mostly talk about Jeonghan’s downbad behavior but why did switching to the HY side make you realize that? (Genuinely asking, I’m sorry omg 😭) Like for me even when I was deep in the Yoonhong trenches, it was so obvious Joshua was just as gone.

But yeah, I totally get what you mean about the heteronormative vibes in some YH content. Thankfully, a lot of people actually recognize the true essence of yaoi.
And personally I think a lot of Yoonhong shippers acknowledge Joshua being just as obsessed but it’s more subtle I suppose.
I’m just too deep in Yoonhong to ever see Jeonghan bottom or Joshua top, even with other ships but that’s totally on me and my own preference.

Please don’t be scared though, you can totally reach out to me!! I’m super chill (okay not super, but!!) with switch ppl as long as they don’t keep pushing the dynamic I’m not into with me and just respect what I like and don’t like. I just personally can’t see Jeonghan as anything but the one on top of Joshua, and that clashes with other fans even switch ones so I usually prefer not to interact. But let’s be friends, I don’t mind
