why does ur perspective differ from everyone else's? others assume solboo’ve broken up or vn’s at fault. Maybe it’s because u have a writer’s mindset, u see things differently
omfg i just read axial tilt and my life has changed drastically
I'm the anon who sent the ask about the junshua thesis and I fully agree!!! I love the way you put the perspectives in both jun and shua individually and I don't mind the length of your answer!! I love when people share what they love hehe especially about their own bias, anyway I just think how powerful they are individually and them together just maximize it. I also love the extrovert of them description cause YESSS imagine the eye glances later on convert to them approaching eo at the back of the group and have their little moment with some laughs of stupid jokes. I kinda imagine them as jess and marie from when harry met sally (if you watch that movie)
hi yves, this is not a very fun question so feel free to let it rot away haha but… i’m a college student who’s graduating this year and feeling lots of stress/doomthinking about Finding A Job ;-; are there any words of wisdom you have?
hi anon!! i totally get this feeling! i am coming up on the end of my contract soon so i totally understand the stress of finding new work. it can be very hard to accept words that encourage you not to value yourself only based on your career, especially when we live in a society that essentially asks us to do that, but instead i'd prompt you to ask a few questions to figure out what you want. i don't know what you study, but i think it's foremost important to know whether you feel like you absolutely want to work in a field related to your expertise. when i graduated in 2021, i struggled a lot to find a job in my industry because of the market at that time, and i ended up taking a year and doing something else. ultimately i found myself unsatisfied and was really determined to have a career in climate, so that became a hardline for me. but if you feel comfortable looking for opportunities in other sectors where you have skills, that's also okay! i feel like we're always taught that our job has to be something we love, but i also think it's okay to treat your job as other things too. you don't /have/ to love your work. there are other outlets to do what you love. maybe your job is just a method for making money. maybe it's a way to learn new skills. maybe it's a pathway for developing new connections. the economy is pretty unfriendly right now, things are expensive, and the world and workplace environment is rapidly changing with ai and geopolitics, so i understand why there's some apprehension to take your first step into the job hunt. but i think your concern can also be spun as an important value that you can portray to recruiters and hiring managers when you start applying and interviewing too! people seek connections with real individuals who have real emotions and thoughts about this. staying true to who you are and articulating what you think has always served me well in seeking work too. i hope this is a little bit helpful, i'm sorry i can't offer any more advice! feel free to reach out to me whenever <3
do you have a junshua thesis
you bet your bottom dollar i do. ahem
i say this both from a biased perspective (as someone who has both josh and jun as biases) but also what is ovbviously a very unbiased, scholarly, sophisticated perspective (/j!!!): junshua is one of the best ships in svt! at first glance it might not jump out to people which i think really speaks to who joshua and junhui are as individuals. they are both extraverted but don't really forwardly demand attention as loudly as some of the other members of seventeen. junhui often comes across as quiet and like a wallflower, and he doesn't always interject within a large group. meanwhile joshua always makes space for other people, especially for people he cares about. i feel like this leads to people not necessarily thinking about their synergy, when in reality they're the type of people to meet eyes across the room and laugh together at a joke they think is funny, even without anyone noticing. their temperaments also go together really well. junhui can be quick to anger and get frustrated easily, but he's also full of quirks, humor, and is quite gentle. he's really emotionally intelligent (i don't think someone can be a good actor without having that quality tbh), and i think joshua needs that in his relationships. the two of them are both quite calculated in what they reveal, but i think junhui's freespiritedness and general lack of concern for what people think of him brings out a sense of comfort in joshua, who is pretty upright and deliberate, but also has this passionate, silly, intensely loving, and even judgmental side to him too.
not to mention their origin story, both having to learn a second language together and taking korean classes in seoul as trainees! like that was definitely a moment of deep bonding that i'd love to know more about! and probably a shared sense of responsibility that was deepened by being part of the hyung line (but having two very secure, dedicated leader hyungs slightly above them in the hierarchy!) i am sure there were things at that time they could only share with each other, esp. before minghao arrived
this is so all over the place and also getting very long but i'll also add junhui is super fucking hot and classically handsome and i know josh just goes fucking wild for that. a tall hot talented dude? sign him up like damn
Ive just reread the leap for the nth time and i love it and ur jc so much. like the way you write their dynamic is just so perfect and so them …. thinking about them forever and ever I hope they get their beautiful married life and their chicken babies and live happily ever after
I'm missing superposition woosan like crazy tonight so i wanted to ask if you have any headcanons for them after the ending 👀
Also i wanted to tell you that I've read seventeen fics for the first time in years thanks to you ♡
it makes me happy to know that you're thinking about them... i do have a somewhat silly headcanon of wooyoung being so excited to properly sit down and introduce san to yeosang. he would hype it up so much and the meal would definitely end with sansang ganging up on him to tease him... but that's exactly where wooyoung would wanna be lol
also! that is delightful to hear i wonder what svt fics you've been reading!
🌻
it's obvious if you string the first page snippet with this one! and even without that tangerine hint it's still recognizable!!
this boo seungkwan and his shop's take on infinite lofi study girl already has my heart. i love the way a snippet frames just enough so that we can stop and appreciate all the details embedded carefully into the scene. how fascinating that provisions often mark departures, and yet this is to be joshua's first stop upon arrival, to a place of things that seem to make up a home, no less. (does it speak to bsk and his feelings of being left, a nest of objects more than people? who is to say) hangyeol's name and this date is so intriguing; a gift for a fond connection? something more in the vein of the genre? maybe the inking has special properties...or maybe the scribe does?? (a huge reach...clairvoyant calligraphy ???) feel free to ignore the rash speculation and rhetorical questions...i couldn't help it...another jogak masterpiece on the horizon and i am at the edge of my seat!! (but unobtrusively, and without pressure)
i hope that the winter is treating you more kindly than the summer did. i read superposition (despite having no knowledge of the fandom whatsoever, but a casual fondness for san and how tender he seems to be) out of curiosity about the different (but no less gorgeous) writer's hats you might wear, but given san's backstory and the context you shared with us on twitter, i can see how this work might have been even more personal to you than usual. what a relief it is to know that life has imitated art this time around, and thank you as always for bravely offering pieces of yourself to us wrapped in time, effort, and heartfelt contemplation!! i hope the warmth you provide has returned to you tenfold as we close out the year, and that you have a lovely day :)
a clairvoyant calligraphy is such a delightful thought and i am such a sucker for alliteration. as usual, i love your musings very much, and you aptly put that snippets give us the chance to pick up on detail, which leads me to say i am always very pleased with how much you do when you read my work. some of your guesses about seungkwan's character are so very astute my goodness!!
thank you so much for reading superposition, too. it can be strange to read fics without any context for the fandom about which it's written, and any dedication of time to my writing is always extremely appreciated. it was both a personal piece and a cathartic one, and strangely lighthearted despite having somewhat of a heavy backdrop. anyway, i hope you also have a lovely day, and that winter is treating you just as kindly. i wanted to say i read this message midday today and it motivated me to sit down and write (playfully!) this evening when i almost did not at all, so extra thanks for that.
