Hi! Do you have a rough estimate of approximately how much a full bundle will cost?
Hey! Thank you so much for the interest in our zine!
As of right now, we cannot confidently answer your question as our creation period only just started recently!
This means we're still looking into manufacturers and quotes for a couple of merch items as well as a potential add-on.
We are trying to keep our pricing as reasonable as possible so expect our pricing to be fairly similar to that of other zines!
Hi! Do you you have a timeframe for sending feedback on applicants' portfolio who asked for it via your module?
Thanks 😊
Hey! As our feedback form indicates, we have no deadline for feedback as our mods give up their free time for it and have to focus on the zine itself primarily.
Hence, feedback isn't at the top of our priorities but we will get back to each and every one of you. We just ask for patience as this is something we offer to you guys freely and we want to assess those portfolios/applications best we can instead of rushing through it all!
What word count would you consider a 'short fanfiction' for the guest book?
Hi, we can post directly to the pages of the Guest Book works that are 4000 words and shorter.
Longer works cannot be posted directly to the Guest Book, but we can link out to them. If you want to submit a longer work, you can submit a public AO3 link.
Did choosing both sfw/nsfw versus either sfw/nsfw participation impact application acceptances?
No, each application was considered on its own merit through the samples and portfolios provided.
Hi! I got rejected but interested in contributing to the guest book! Will there be a nsfw section in it?
Thank you for your interest in the Guest Book! Per our Info Doc, no NSFW is allowed in the Guest Book.
Might i ask how many apps you got vs how many were accepted?
We received around 250 applications total across all roles, of which 58 were accepted as contributors.
Hi! I'm a sculptor but I mostly make jewelry, charms and small figurines. Is that also something that you'd consider for the zine?
Hey thank you for asking! We don't really have a limit to what you can offer up in our specialty applications. If you apply outside of the narrator, animator and musician roles, we just want to know in what form you think you'll contribute in the end so make sure to note that down in the pitch section!
As long as you can envision your work as part of the zine and sell us on it, we are open to hearing any idea there is. Whether that's high quality pictures of your work, a tutorial or even tediously hand-crafted merch in the end - We'd love to see and consider it!
What time (and timezone) do applications close?
Applications will close 20th of September, 11:59 PM PST!
Hi! :)
I am a singer, actually even a wedding singer in real life! It would be a dream to join the zine as a musician.. but I only do cover songs :(
Because i can't play instruments.
Do you need original songs? Or is it okay to submit wedding songs to the zine?
Maybe altering them a little bit so they don't fall under copyright?
Since we can only take on one musician, we unfortunately are looking for someone who can provide an original piece, including instrumentation. We hope this news is not too much of a disappointment!
Your passion for this project blows us away, though, and we’d love to have you participate in our digital Guest book, so please watch out for more information on that. In the Guest Book, we will have more options to share many types of art, including cover songs. Thank you so much for your interest!
Hi!
I submitted a special artist application, but it’s not clear for animators did you want me to submit animatic type work? I didn’t but with recent posts it’s starting to sound like I should have?
We apologize for the lack of clarity! The applications we have received so far all contain acceptable samples. We have added some additional notes to our Info Doc and Specialty Application to help clarify the requirements.
While we accept roughs/animatics, we are especially looking for animations that are cleaned up and brought to a smoother finish (including color). We accept animations done digitally or traditionally, in 2D, 3D, stop motion, or any technique to bring characters to life on screen. Portfolio samples can include any part of your animation process, including character designs, turnarounds, storyboards, keyposes/in-between process, animation exercises, environment design, etc.
