Hi ! I am very interested in this zine, its such a beautiful project but I have some questions if thats ok :)
I usually do 2D/3D illustrations with a bit of animation in it but I am not sure I qualify for the Specialty contributors as I am not sure I understand the role, as a specialty contributor doing animation is the deadline different and is the work not on the physical zine ?
I am a slow artist and would love to be on the physical zine so yeah, I don't know if I should apply to page artist or specialty ✨
Thanks for your question! You are right that our Animator role is different than the traditional Page Artist, because their piece will be launched to help promote the project during the Pre-Order period.
Because our schedule requires Contributors to have their pieces finished by February 1 and Pre-Orders launch February 14, your deadlines will actually be similar. But there will be less time for leeway since the animation launches sooner to the public and will need to be edited with music and graphics before going live.
The animation may not feature in the physical zine itself, but frames from the animation would feature on merch (which will be available for purchase alongside the zine), and the animation will feature on the digital portion of our project (the PDF and an upcoming website).

Hello! For writer applications, are links to fics already published on ao3 okay, or does the mod team prefer they be transferred over to a google doc instead?
Links to existing fics on AO3 are perfectly ok!

hello! for writer samples, should we include an abstract for snippets? and will that be included into the word count or not? and when submitting nsfw, should that go into the main 3 samples or can i just add that as my extra sample submission? thank you!
You do not need to submit abstracts for your Samples, but if you feel like you need to add an author's note to preface your work, feel free to do so under the Warnings section, or under Question/Comments at the end.
We primarily want the main 3 samples to represent YOUR BEST writing, whether that is SFW or NSFW. So yes, NSFW can be included in the main 3 Samples! All we ask is that you include a warning that the sample is NSFW. Any additional SFW or NSFW works can be added to the Portfolio link.

Hello, I noticed in the schedule that there's a very long gap between contributor results (Sep. 27) and contributor acceptance / pitches (early November). Is this correct? May I ask why this is the case?

When making our schedule, our mods seem to have collectively forgotten that after 9 there comes a 10 and not an 11.
We want justice for October and have hence adjusted our schedule to include it!
We still stick to our final submission deadline on the 1st of February, but extended the timeframe for check-ins in our creation period to allow a more comfortable workflow for all parties involved.
The new date for pitches is now October 11!
