Omgomgomg I just found your acc on twt and I’m literally drooling for your Jsvng art omgomgomg 🚬🚬🚬 Cine. Do you practice anatomy in some way? Bc I’m also drawing like stuff and all that and some recommendations would be nice 😔

hi tysm!!! it means so much you like my art sm hehe !
As far as anatomy practice, I was lucky growing up that my step mom was an artist so she gave me a LOT of lessons when i was very young. In addition i had a lot of opportunities for figure studies on real models due to art classes/ art college/ and some art camps. Because of that i’m a bit biased, but I think drawing from real life is super effective. Some places will offer figure studies with nude models, it’s a really awesome tool! There are also several websites geared towards artists that have references photos of diffferent poses, both clothed and nude! If you decide to go that route, I would recommend setting a timer, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, and 5 minutes. having shorter times allows you to get less in your head about making it perfect and more attuned to the big important shapes and lines that represent the shape a body is making! Also give urself some variety, try doing a blind contour drawing, that way you can really focus on replicating the lines as they actually are instead of how ur brain wants it to look. A lot of getting used to anatomy is just unlearning drawing from memory.
A lot of artists who draw realistic figures study anatomy more in depth, learning the muscles and how they bunch up and stretch when certain moves are made, understanding the bones and how they rotate and hinge, even using the circulatory system to incorporate color! I am ashamed to say my knowledge of anatomy is limited in that way, but i’m hoping to teach myself soon!!

if you’re not into realism, i still think understand anatomy can be super helpful, because you can exaggerate certain features in a way that makes sense!
There’s really no right and wrong way to learn art, a lot of people understand it differently and come up with vastly different and unique techniques! i’m more “classically” trained, but i think just going at a pace that’s natural to you is important. Regardless, always challenge your brain to “let go” more, thats how our art evolves!
I’m sorry if this is a whole lot of yapping, i love talking about art and technique! Tysm so for the ask, and I hope ur art makes it onto my fyp soon :3
