I have many, many favourites. But here's a recent one from Kafka: "I am a cage, in search of a bird."

Or one from Keith S. Wilson: "I'd never seen the sky when always there was you. Sincerely,"

And if I'm allowed one more (and this is from my childhood): "人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺。" or "Humans will have sorrows and joys; partings and reunions, just as the moon waxes and wanes," an excerpt from Su Dongpo's poem.
