anyways, i’m gonna say that i didn’t expect that cliff hanger. sorta didn’t sound like him?? cause given how he was talking to his dad and jaem, i didn’t think he’d just outright cut him off?? like taking a break, yeah, but basically being like “we’re done” was a little shocking. so excited to keep up with thisssssss!!!
i’m really glad you picked up on that cos the way donghyuck speaks to his dad was very intentional. no matter how complicated everything else gets his dad is the one person he doesn’t filter himself around. i wanted to show that sense of safety, that even when things start slipping out of his control he still has at least one place where he can be completely honest. and about the ending it’s not exactly as final as it seems. from donghyuck's perspective it’s more of a step back than a complete cut-off. but mark… doesn’t quite see it that way which is where things start to shift.
