In TFAH, how much of your life experience is reflected in Taehyung’s situation ?
personally, not much! i'm still a baby academic and i have a good life-work balance (i enjoy my hobbies too much), but his situation is def inspired by those around me. many of my closest friends are academics and clearly struggling with burnout and internal pressures. some specific situations, like the tenure thing and the private life concerns, are things my friends have been through. and the fact that he is a sociology of surveillance expert comes from my past experience being a teaching assistant for a sociology of surveillance course haha
shamelessly, a lot of my academic experience shaped taehyung character in "you're at once a map to nowhere and everywhere"!

Could you tell us more about Taehyung’s feelings towards JK at this stage of the story? He is so conflicted and so restrained that I find it hard to follow him 😂 also, compared to JK who is 200% all in…
our guy is a bit confusing, isn't he? until now, his feelings are mostly related to physical attraction and curiosity. it's too soon to say taehyung has romantic feelings for jungkook, but he is interested, he wants to know more. at the same time, he has been struggling to come to terms with the fact that he is interested in someone so young and from a different world than him. something is blooming inside taehyung and think it's clear he cares about jungkook (more than he's ready to admit), but tae is too restrained to just give in easily. he's too much inside his own head for his own good. i hope that doesn't translate as he doesn't care for jk, is just how he tries to protect himself. now that the bathroom scene happened, i think he won't hold himself back anymore. let's see :)
