Do you contact writers ahead of time to remind them of their deadlines?
Sorry for the late response! We've been in contact with writers on or around the time of their deadline.
is it concerning if the writer didn't contact me a week after i submitted a prompt?
Writers have typically only been reaching out to prompters if they have questions or concerns regarding the submitted prompt. Otherwise, they have been getting started on the writing process. It is the mod team's responsibility to let prompters know when their prompts have been confirmed. Our apologies that you haven't heard from us yet. We're working to get caught up on outstanding confirmation and claims!
With the link tree having shifted a bit since round 1, should we donate to one of their highlighted fundraisers? Or can we go to a mutual aid resource they link like Stand With Minnesota and donate to one of those funds?
You can donate to any of the fundraisers or resources linked on the linktree. The organizers of the linktree update it pretty frequently with different resources and fundraisers but all of them are going toward helping provide support in MN, so they all qualify. The fundraisers and groups linked on the Stand with MN website are a great place to donate and many prompters have directed their donations there! :)
hey, just wanted to check, will there be a collection on ao3 for us readers to browse through?
Yes! The collection is already up! Feel free to check out the 26 (!) works already posted to the collection. Here's the link: https://ao3.org/collections/flashficdrive2026
hihi! what time on friday do prompt forms open? ty!
Hi! Prompt forms open on Friday at 12:00pm PST.
hi! if we signed up as a contributor for a certain amount of fics, are we allowed to add more slots once those ones fill up? as long as we're confident that we can write them?
Hi! You're welcome to add more slots after all of your slots have been claimed and you have published all the works for those claims.
if we donated, will we be contacted to be told if our prompt is chosen? or if we got our req in before it closed should we just assume that we made it? :D thank you so much
Yes! After your prompt comes in, we confirm it with the writer. If the writer has questions about your prompt, they'll reach out directly to you. Once the writer confirms with us that there are no issues with the prompt, we will contact you to let you know that your prompt was accepted and currently being written!
We're still in the process of contacting writers with their prompts, so those who donated on Feb 1 can likely expect to receive their confirmation emails in the next couple of days as we work through writer confirmations! Thank you again for your patience.
hi! can contributors share what prompts they’ve received, or should they hold off on sharing any fic details until posting?
Hello! We don't have any restrictions on sharing prompt details once you've received them. You're welcome to post your wips and tag us.
hi! writer here - just wondering how strict the 1k word limit is?
Hi writer! You are welcome to go over the 1k word requirement so long as you are able to meet the one month deadline for the fic. The "flash" in "Flash Fic Drive" refers both to the speedy turnaround of the fics as well as the length minimum! :)
I couldn't find exactly how to donate... I saw something about uploading a screenshot?
Forms are now live! After choosing which of our wonderful contributing writers you'd like to request a prompt from and checking to see if their form is still open, you can review our donator guidelines. After reviewing our donator guidelines, you can visit this linktree to view the various community and mutual aid groups to donate to. Pick one and make a minimum donation of 10 USD. Take a screenshot of your donation, making sure the money amount is visible in the screenshot. Then, submit your prompt and proof of donation to the author form of your choice!
