What do you think about soulmarks that only appear once both have confessed? Imagine one or both of them having a slight insecurity that their love won't end well... esp if there's family opposition. But the moment they kiss after finally speaking their feelings... a soulmark blossoms in their bodies. A confirmation that their love is true and can't be destroyed by any powers, both human and divine
love thattt omg it has the potential of being tragic af if they confess when they're on the brink of death so the soulmark blooms for a moment and then the lights go out and it's over for them </333 but it would work so well w like. say arranged marriage between A & C except A doesn't want to get married and when B confesses to them the soulmark appears and thus the marriage can't go through. so many possibilities...
