Hello again! It’s so nice to read your thoughts on the vogue interview! Since you asked, I hope you don’t mind if I take the chance to gush at the interview and photos!
I also loved getting to know about his process for getting into character and thoughts on scripts. Like you said, such a privilege to read! Ah I don’t think I could pick just one picture but I think the mirror one when his eyes are open is incredibly striking. I also like the one where he is standing on the scaffolding and there’s the metal looking sculpture behind him and he’s wearing the coat with the skirt or possibly shorts? I like that the outfit is very loose without much shape or structure but behind him the art has these large textured shapes with corners and curves, with the simple straight lines of the scaffolding cutting through. I liked the contrast!
As for the interview the thing that struck me was where he revisits his answer to older interview questions. With the two xz’s quote, I found it incredibly relatable to feel like you are these different parts that feel disjointed or maybe you even feel hypocritical as a person because of the way you changed over the years or the different sides you put on for different people. But that moment when you can come to understand yourself a bit better. be more at peace with the different sides to you, that it’s not incongruent, it’s all you. it changes but I think or hope at least that as you get older you get to settle more and more into understanding yourself. I’m still in that process myself tbh.
Reading about how music for him is more personal also made me perk up. I wanna know what themes he’ll be exploring with this ep! I’m so excited! Do you think the concert rumours are true? What songs would you like to hear him sing live? In one of the “quotes by xiao zhan” he talks about the song satisfied. That’s the one he sang on our song right? I would love if he sang that and it would be full circle with that interview🥺

ahh that answer also struck a chord with me! it's so interesting to see how his thoughts change over time, and we get to see that happen in real time! how there was once a time where he thought there are two xzs, and he works for the one that everyone sees. i think it speaks a lot both to his growth as a public figure, and all the work he's done internally/emotionally, to arrive at this new answer he gave this time. i hope in time, you also are able to understand yourself better! with the way you're so introspective and so thoughtful & intentional with your words, i have no doubt you'll get there! 💛
aaa every time the studio drops a new teaser, i get so curious! why did he pick the colour scheme! why the font! what do all the abstract shapes mean? i'd love to be a fly on the wall and just be there to bask in his creative process. what a gift that'd be!! i think the rumours are probably (definitely) very true, and this ep cemented that for me! i think with all the industry rumours but also na jie speaking so openly about it at her concert, it's pretty much a confirmed thing, and now we're just waiting for the official announcement! (which is SUCH a terrifying thought. ticketing will be a bloodbath)
oh gosh, idek what i'd want him to sing, there are so many! aside from his own songs, i'd love to hear him cover the songs he sang earlier in his career! the ones on x-fire, the casual covers he would sing in lives. it would feel so full-circle :') and i agree with you in terms of Satisfied. how fulfilling and full circle would it be to perform that song that he wrote himself so long ago at his own concert! ahh, zhanzhan. you've come so far :')
