HOW I DISLOCATED BOTH OF MY KNEES :
so, story time (ദ്ദി ๑>؂•̀๑) as a young adolescence i was enrolled in figure skating classes as it was practically a requirement in the state where i grew up in to be able to skate. i did enjoy myself quite a bit!! so much so, that i continued lessons up until i was eleven. i had gotten to the point where i couldn't be taught anything else by the club i was enrolled in, and they put me in a syncronised skating team for the state. we didn't win anything as a team, but individually i had won silver. if you're a fan of skating, you'll recognize who i'm about to mention. we got to meet Surya Bonaly. she greeted us at the end and i was absolutely awestruck, mouth agape, jumping for joy. I know i have a photo with her somewhere in my mother's closet. (·•᷄‎ᴗ•᷅ ) she still coaches at that rink as far as my knowledge goes
now, you're probably wondering when in this story i dislocate my knees. well..
i mentioned having gotten a silver medal in state championship. it wasn't anything fancy, just a bunch of twelve year olds competing..
instead of being happy, i was P I S S E D. ( ≖‿ ≖ )
i felt robbed of gold, as if we were in the olympics or something (it was never that serious, mini me.)
well, i started to become ambitious and do jumps that my club had said were too advanced for me, and low and behold, i over rotated while in the air and landed incorrectly on my heel, immediately dislocating both of my patellas and permanently bruising my meniscus. i still go to physical therapy for it, at the ripe old age of seventeen. i'm never aloud to do complicated skating techniques again and can barely go backwards without needing assistance.
remember that getting second place does not define you as a person, you managed to beat everyone else just to get to where you are today.

sidenote, your bones should never dislocate when failing a jump, i was an extreme case and was promptly afterwards diagnosed with hEDS Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome POTS and ASD 🥹
maybe that jump was meant to fail, so that i could get the proper care for the rest of my conditions

love it and hate it
very loaded question, i've met some of the most integral people in my life through the internet, and spend a large chunk of my time on neocities fiddling around with html (no css, i'm a wuss)
it's a great way to express yourself, and find your people
the only downside is the amount of hatred floating around. there's people who will shoot you down just for BREATHING!!!!
in all seriousness, people tend to forget that there's real people behind the screens.
