Whether it was planned by Capcom or not, Wesker is "haunting" Chris in a way. After his death in RE5, Wesker's presence is still noticeable even when his name is not directly stated. In RE6 Chris meets Wesker's son. In RE8 Chris is wearing similar outfit to Wesker's from Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and has similar mannerism. In Resident Evil Death Island movie Chris has a replica of Wesker's gun. In the latest anniversary art, above Chris there is shown Wesker's heart protected by uroboros
