I love Project Moon and their symbolism so much. Sorry for long rant and spoilers for lobcorp/limbus but like. Have you ever wondered about the importance of red eyes in project moon universe ever before... Because it is an interesting symbolic detail actually! Right now I mainly want to review the connection of red eyes to Carmen, Ryoshu, and Bloodfiends... "but Vergilius-" im too lazy to talk about him forgive me. But well, red eyes are, of course, small detail, that seems like it doesn't hold much meaning. BUT IT DOES! If you ask me, "but cathy!!!!!! what ties those 3 together at all!!!" Good question! Ryoshu, Carmen and Bloodfiends have a shared similar theme - parenthood! I would say motherhood even, but bloodfiends dont fit under this. Anyway, to most people who are more aware with lobcorp's lore, I feel like I don't have to go much into detail with this. Carmen's ties to motherhood are, so to say, pretty direct! After she tried to give up on everything, after she became the source of cogito, she was known as the mother of all abnormalities. Pretty direct, no? She is, in a way, a mother! Ryoshu is also pretty explainable - parenthood is all over her story... I didn't get to her canto yet - forgive me for anything that I say that might be wrong!!! But, her whole connection to HoS and nursefathers, and her own daughter, Araya, make it all very clear she also has obvious ties to parenthood, and also motherhood in specific... And then you think about her red eyes and stuff, right? And you stop to yourself, and think... Hey, isn't red eyes an ego in lobcorp? Bingo!!! They are! Spider Bud's ego is, indeed, called Red Eyes! And now, I want you to ask yourself - what exactly does spider bud represent? Exactly - she's a mother of spiderlings! This is, pretty much, the reason why Ryoshu has that ego in limbus - maybe the reason why she has it two times! To represent her own unique relationship with parenthood... And the next question is, of course - what the hell do bloodfiends have to do with all of this????? This is also a good question. To say - I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY FURTHER MISNINFORMATION, IF SUCH APPEARS! I just got to canto seven, please forgive me!!!!!!!!! But overall, bloodfiends we saw (Don, Sancho, Dulcinea, Nicolina, Curiambro, etc...) work in like, this kind of close-knit family-like relationships... Don being Sancho and Dulcinea's dad, Nicolina and Curiambro basically being like Dulcinea's kids... It all boils down to parenthood again, IMO! A lot of bloodfiends really seem to operate in family-like dynamics if I'm correct... So yeah! Red eyes are unnatural, there's of course augmentations and such, but natural red eyes most often signify parenthood!
