now that's too vague of a question 😭 almost every country has an interesting history, some (many) not for the good reasons but still interesting! but i'd say the history that fascinates me the most overall is the rise of socialism(s) in s/easia (china, vietnam, dprk, indonesia, etc) and the resistance against imperialism and fascism in the global south in general (palestine, the philippines, colombia, algeria, burkina faso, cuba, etc)
