ik you've been getting a lot of messages from non-moas who just happened to come across their tl, i am one of those ppl lmao 😭 ive been writing rpf seriously since 2019 and ive also had to take down fics or make them less accessible for the same reason. there r some ppl who aren't jolly and need to take out that antijollyness on other ppl and i'm so sorry these anons decided to do it to u. idk soogyu like that but i'm sure they're peak and i'm sure ur fics are fire and a lot of people love them. xoxo
i actually really appreciate it LOL rpf honestly helped me come out in 2015!!! it was my first m/m ship and reading / writing made me feel more comfortable so getting told it was fetishizing was so ???? to me HAHA it was honestly just one person but i couldn’t believe someone was so far up their own butt they kept coming back for hours. pls ship soogyu tho <3

i cant believe people are comparing FANFICTION to deepfakes hello? even if it’s smut it falls under fanFICTION. it’s not real! it’s never tried to be real!
does that anon understand that deepfakes are fundamentally different because its purpose is to trick others into thinking its reality? like anon thought they ate but they did NOT eat. they left every crumb. the plate was untouched. the refrigerator was left unopened. a trip to the grocery store was not made.

but i hope you'll keep writing, doesn't have to be now, but somewhere in the future, when things are better and people are kinder.
your tweet just happened to pass by my timeline and i am so so sad reading that awful anon nonsense. sometimes, things are better left unsaid even if you think you're right (to: anon). fanfictions after all are a grey area that are obviously not black and white. if its not to your liking or that its not morally right to you, then leave it, just as simple as that. why bother pouring your time and energy to just bash ppl having fun? maybe get a life?

i ended up locking the canon comp fics and keeping the rest public! i love always an angel too dearly and until she gets her moment in the sun i wanna keep her out there.
i really did try to emphasize that i hope whoever the anon was spent some time reflecting on why they felt the need to put so much time and energy (because they were actually going through my tweets from ages ago and in my inbox immediately after some responses) into caring for themselves. this part is probably hypocritical, but putting that much energy into things you hate is harmful and it should be put into other things, like real advocacy work or civil conversations about nuanced topics.
i did go to sleep (the anon interrupted my nap time earlier cause i get anxious LOL) and i do feel better. i’m personally a shy ao3 commenter so i wanna leave it open in case people read what i have up and say nice things that they’re too afraid to comment :< it just sucks how some people always wanna be negative

hey i don’t go here but one of ur tweets came up and (as someone who used to be into k-pop years ago and also wrote fics about my faves) i just wanted to say, you should keep writing anyway. you mentioned having a mix of fluff and smut, so it sounds like your stories were genuinely plotted out etc. you’ll keep having ideas, much like you’ll (unfortunately) keep having haters. you should post what you have anyway and let ppl enjoy your art with you, don’t suppress the creative side of you!!!
it’s funny, bc 99% chance companies and idols know things like fanfics and shipping exists for them. we have seen idols explicitly ask for some ships not to be spoken about, for some works not to be based on them. if these two idols ur writing about haven’t said shit, then i think you’re more than good.
also im bringing this up bc anon said they were concerned for the idols in question but isn’t one of the idols someone who read a manga or something with controversial material in it, but he recommended it anyway bc obviously he wasn’t focusing on that part, just the wider story?? i feel like if anons gonna advocate for anyone, it can’t be these two 😭 i think he wouldn’t give a fuck if ur writing smut about him so. do ur thing!!!
i’m actually not legitimately a smut writer and say constantly to my writer oomfs that i’m so Self Conscious about it. sorry to disappoint readers but i have the one smut scene in my fics as a claim to the explicit rating for the sake of clickbait. i’m an Angst girl, sadly. but i really really thank you for this message. writing is vulnerable and the process of creating is difficult with all the self doubt.
but i do agree with you! i used to love fifth harmony (lol) and camila and lauren’s discomfort with the ship made me avoid any contact with shippers / creative works of the two. i get that there’s some more gray areas since kpop idols speak their minds a little less freely, but if either of them said anything specifically about the shipping between them, i’d stop immediately.
AHHHH that thing .. he did say he watched it and was able to criticize (?) the parts that were more controversial, as anything should be ! the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and i believe everything should be thought about critically, but the eagerness to turn whatever anon was doing into a moral debate was so strange to me, especially because they were trying to advocate for my own community for me
