it's ok, dot can't tell either. caroline resents dot a lot for being a miserable pathetic loser which she sees a lot of her younger self in. she cares very strongly for her and wants to see her succeed, but she feels like she needs to toughen her up in order to make it happen. as a result she treats her very harshly and uses her authority to manipulate dot into doing her bidding. normal sister stuff i think
