Do you believe in the 3-month rule for the talking stage? Like, taking 3 months to get to know each other before making things official and all that?

Dove deeper into this topic before answering (wow, I’m jobless), but I may still contradict myself here (sorry). Personally, I’ve never been the kind to set a duration when getting to know someone better. Sure, the first three months seem to be the period where everything you do with your partner puts you on a high, and the infatuation sometimes makes you overlook things you normally wouldn’t tolerate, but I don’t believe the façade begins to slip at the 90-day mark. Some people are simply better at keeping up a front while conflict is a bit harder to fake through, which is why I don’t see a clash or disagreement as necessarily a bad thing, but rather as an opportunity to learn more about yourself and your partner. I think what matters then is how the two of you work together to resolve the matter at hand, rather than automatically viewing it as incompatibility.

But a simple answer to your initial question: I don’t let a calendar dictate how I begin or view a potential relationship. Everything works on my own terms (with my partner, of course). :—)
