Hi Dani :) How are you feeling now that watercolor eyes is almost finished? It's your first ongoing work, isn't it? What's next?
hello! it's my first ongoing work, yes!! i was very unsure of whether to submit an unfinished fic (it was for the etol fest). i was 4k into it and in an entirely different mental place. i started writing it because i wanted to deal with my own feelings of betrayal and nostalgia through writing. this decision itself turned out to be a tricky one, because when you try to put too much of yourself in the story, it stops functioning. i realized this early enough, that i was cutting its wings, killing its freedom. my perspective changed, i kind of set the story free of myself and let the characters become real people that i have just met and not inspired by someone i already knew. it was a game-changer for me and a very interesting lesson, too. i'm saying all this because now that watercolor eyes is almost finished, i feel so grateful that i didn't give up on it. i also feel all over the place because i still have a chapter and an epilogue to write and that's 15-20k so i'm anxiously excited. but i'm also very curious about my readers' reactions when the fic's completed. i'm very very thankful to everyone who reads it as it gets uploaded as well as to the people i know are patiently waiting for me to finish it in order to submerge into it. ♡
what's next? jocks! or: my jock fest fic. it's going to be my reward after all this drama. there will be lots of pining! i'm not saying anything else hehe~

Omg is there anything interesting YOU’RE reading nowadays?
the answer to this question is usually YES. these days tho... i find most of my reads underwhelming when it comes to books. the last one i read and was fully enamored with was "Life is Elsewhere" by Milan Kundera, but he's just fucked up in the head. i'm slowing getting into "This Is How You Lose the Time War" by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone and i HOPE it's good because i've been meaning to read it since forever.
in terms of fics, i'm loving "color theory" by yoonminology, and "Arrhythmia" by elisabeta, and "The Lost Marquess" by kicksomeacid.

that's the plan! the reason why i haven't claimed yet is because i want to finish my wip (watercolor eyes) and write and submit my jock fest fic. i really want to participate in the vkook fest so i'm using it as motivation for the other two writing projects. if i claim now before having finished them, i'll feel suffocated, rather than motivated. your message is a wonderful motivation too! thank you so much! 🫂
