Why don’t you want to stop making art as StrangelyIndecisive/SweetVixsin?
Disclaimer this is me talking about ME and my experiences. This isn't to reflect on anyone else's disabilities or experiences
Art first and for most, is the first thing I had ever had that felt like my learning disabilities didn't weight me down. I constant additional mental load just to appear "normal" or like I'm some competent being who can do " what everyone else does, and finds so easy". It was the first time I started to enjoy something remotely like this and learned that I am competent. I just take a bit longer and that doesn't make me stupid or unworthy.
So to stop making art in general, would remove apart of myself that I don't think I could live without. Now it doesn't have to be under the StrangelyIndecisive or Sweetvixsin names. But that is where I am currently, though I have often thought about changing my name and rebranding.
What made StrangelyIndecisive/SweetVixsin successful?
I wouldn't really call myself successful by any means.
But I've kept it going because I'm not 100% sure what I'd do without it. I've done this work on and off since I was 16 years old. I've made mistakes, taken breaks, gotta so burnt out I had a mild break down. But I keep going because somewhere I just love doing it. I don't think I'll ever be what would be considered successful but I take wins where I can get them.
Now I majorly need to learn to draw more for myself as I 100% use commissions and people telling me what to draw as a crutch to hide behind not actually sharing or showing things. But I'm....growing lol
What is your favorite drink?
Why doesn’t she really like squeezing herself into things that cover up her belly? (Clover)
Well, Clover has never really liked tight or restricting clothing. She is a very active person, walking, running, rollerblading, ect ect. So tight/restricting clothing always has made her uncomfortable and feel like she doesn't have a full range of motion. So long as the item is safe to wear while doing the activities she is doing and doesn't restrict her movement she'd wear it. For example tight clothing like sports bras or shorts don't restrict her, but say some skirts or dresses wouldn't be safe to wear while say rollerblading, so she wouldn't wear it.
When she became pregnant and rather large around the middle, feeling things tight on her belly restricting her already more restricted movement and life. Just made her feel HELLA uncomfortable. So crop tops, looser tank tops and shorts became her bread and butter. Not to mention stealing some of Jack's clothing too since it's nice and loose on her smaller frame.
What is your favorite song?
I don't think I have a current favorite song. I'm sorry, I've just been so massively obsessed with the Hazbin Hotel and Epic soundtracks, as well as just relearning my love for my Punk/Emo/Rock roots that I have been bouncing around way too much to have just one fave at the moment.
I have embraced my cringe and don't care anymore, I love listening to the music I used to blare in my headphones as a teenager again lol
Do you have a family?
I do, My husband and I have two beautiful stupid kitties. I have my mother in law as well, and my older brother and my nephew. Those are the ones I consider family, though I do also have a found family that I adore very much, some of them could still call me to this day even if we have had no contact due to life and I'd walk through hell for them.
Have you ever been on vacation?
What is your favorite sport?
The RCMP officer in my house is handing me a note card it says " Hockey, I love hockey". Yup! That's right I LOOOOOVE hockey. All joking aside I'm not in to sports, I'm terrible at them and have been hit in the face too many time to try any others. I do actually enjoy watching Hockey, though not to the extent of other people lol I don't follow the playoffs and I don't have a fave team.
