so I never saw it as infantilizing him. He's someone who has lived far outside of society for most of his life (and in a not great environment) and is discovering very slowly who he is outside of the hospital. This fic only takes place over a few months? a little longer? and through that time he learns to express his interests, his likes, etc. It is also told through wy's POV, who loves him dearly, but clearly struggles with how to do it well. he knows it's not healthy, but he fears the great option of what happens if hj is discovered.
