Escapism has kept me sane over the years; just because something takes you out of reality doesn't mean it has no underlying value. It says something about how cruel life can be that people want to escape it in the first place. Maybe we shouldn't be letting fantasy consume our lives, but I raise an eyebrow when you tell me the person working 60+ hours a week at their office is the healthier and more grounded, healthy, and happy than the one who is in for half that because they enjoy reading, tabletop, gaming, etc.
