I play the Super Metroid + A Link to the Past combo randomizer more than any other randomizer.

A lot of my friends love the ALttP randomizer, and it's with good reason. It's a very good fit for a randomizer! The randomized game is way more interesting and fun than the vanilla game, and can sometimes make you forget that it's originally very linear, because it feels so wide open under the randomizer's rules.

Many of them aren't huge fans of Super Metroid though, or would just rather play the two individually. I totally understand that and it makes plenty of sense to me.

For me though, the mixing together of the two games just really does something for me. I've played a lot of games in the past where you switch between two different main types of gameplay, and this makes it feel less dull for me. The way the two games are linked together in their world also provides an interesting and unique avenue to getting specific items or reaching specific bosses that you don't have in the separate games. Plus I think the permutations you can get are enormously larger due to combining the two games.

I made a custom MSU-1 pack for Super Metroid and a customized one for ALttP to go with my runs, knowing I would use it a lot. And I have. I tend to be somewhat reluctant to stream it, so I only stream it once every few months or so. But when I do, I always have a great time, even when the seed is incredibly cursed.

I'm interested in doing a full run of the quad-rando (Metroid 1, Super Metroid, Zelda 1, ALttP) as well, but there hasn't been a good way of tracking all of it short of literally using two entirely unrelated trackers at the same time. As soon as there's a good tracker for that, I really want to do it. (I also really wish they'd add MSU-1 support though, of course!!)
