Other than the Cirqus Voltaire pinball table, if you could have any physical media game (arcase cabinet, console, cartridge, board game, whatever) what would be at the top of your list? Also, is there a game you physically own that you're especially proud of already?
Truth be told, I don't buy physical games much at all anymore, for a bunch of different reasons but mostly space and convenience are big things. Obviously arcade machines would be exceptions to this.
The too-obvious answer would be something like a real Pop'n Music cabinet, if I could have any.
But my less predictable answer is that I'd like to have a real cabinet of Numan Athletics. I played it at an arcade growing up, and I became absolutely enamored with it, especially when I set a "world record" high score. I thought it was literally the record in the entire world because I was a pretty dumb little girl! Then, when that machine went away mere weeks later, I didn't know what the game was or what it was called for many, many years. When I finally discovered it again, I was extremely happy.
I'm proud of my "DDR machine". It's not a real one, but something I've set up and maintained myself, with very high-quality metal pads. But I wouldn't count that either.
I'm not sure. I don't feel like I have any games I'm specifically "proud of owning". But I own physical Japanese copies of Langrisser I & II, Tales of Phantasia, and Persona 2 Tsumi on PS1, and the physical collector's editions of a few Japanese games as well like Langrisser I & II (PS4 this time) and ESPRa.De. I like those. I also have the Japanese Switch version of Retro Game Challenge 1+2. I sort of feel nothing about most of my physical game collection because I feel like I can get any of it back if I lose it, at any time. But I care about my imports. I also have the Japanese collector's edition of Live A Live complete with bag and board game.
The exception to this may be Doujinsoft. I own physical copies of Acceleration of SUGURI 2 and BLOODVANE. I also have a physical copy of "SUGURI Perfect Edition" which I myself worked on; I believe there are less than 1,000 of those.
Actually, I've decided. My real answer is that I own a physical copy of Super Ledgehop Double Laser. I think those are extremely rare.
